This course is for those who wish to prevent stress occurring; for those for whom stress is already occurring more often than they’d like; for those who have an interest in understanding for themselves or others more about ‘all things stress’: why it occurs, where it comes from, what we can do for the immediate and longer term to prevent and manage stress and unhelpful emotional responses. It’s for those who recognise that they’re not making the most of themselves and situations as stress and unhelpful emotional responses are getting in the way of them living their lives as they would wish. To this end, and with our learning together, you’ll make a plan in this course of how to do that. We’ll also be ‘normalising’ the thoughts, feelings and responses to stress and everyday anxiety we can all experience.
By the end of the session, you’ll be able to describe
You’ll also take away 30 (yes, 30!!) tried and tested practical stress prevention/management techniques to choose from and try out
This course provides you with a practical guide to preventing and managing stress, living more of the life you want to, enabling you to deal with and overcome stress in the immediate and longer term. We’ll be providing lots of answers to the question: “What can I do in terms of mindset and behaviours to make the most of myself and situations: for myself, my relationships, my life generally?”
This is a participative course, where you’ll have the opportunity to reflect on how and why you get stressed; how you can manage your emotions and emotional responses; which of the large number of stress prevention/management techniques presented resonate the most with you personally; practice a number of these for experiential learning; make a plan of which of the techniques/exercises/activities you can try and apply going forward in your day-to-day life.
There’s a brief, confidential, learner e-questionnaire to complete and return prior to the course, so I have an impression from the group of learning needs. There’s also a course workbook to download.
